RRB ALP Eligibility Criteria 2026
A. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have any one of the following:
Matriculation/SSLC + ITI from NCVT/SCVT in Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Mechanic Diesel, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, etc.
Matriculation/SSLC + Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the relevant trades.
3 Years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering from a recognized institution.
Degree in Engineering in the above disciplines is also eligible.
B. Age Limit as on 01-07-2026:
Minimum Age: 18 Years
Maximum Age : 30 years
Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC-NCL, 10 years for PwBD candidates. Additional relaxation for Ex-Servicemen.

Medical Standard: Candidates must pass the A-1 Medical Fitness Standard. This is very important for ALP. It includes strict vision standards: Distant Vision 6/6, 6/6 without glasses, and no color blindness.

The RRB ALP Selection Process 2026
Here’s a clear summary of the 4-stage selection process for RRB ALP 2026:
CBT-1 (First Stage Computer Based Test): 75 Questions, 60 Minutes. Subjects: Maths, Reasoning, General Science, General Awareness. Negative marking: 1/3rd.CBT-2 (Second Stage Computer Base.
CBT-2 (Second Stage Computer Based Test): Two Parts. Part-A: 100 Questions, 90 Minutes on Maths, Reasoning, Science, GA. Part-B: 75 Questions, 60 Minutes on Relevant Trade. Part-B is qualifying only.
CBAT (Computer Based Aptitude Test): Only for ALP. This is the most critical stage. Candidates need a minimum T-Score of 42 in each test battery. No negative marking. Final merit list is based on 70% weightage of CBT-2 Part-A + 30% weightage of CBAT.
Document Verification & Medical Examination: This is the final stage for candidates who have been shortlisted after the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT). Candidates must present all required documents for verification and undergo a thorough medical examination to confirm their eligibility for the next steps in the recruitment process.
