Age Limit
Born between 02 July 2007 and 01 January 2010. i.e. 16.5 to 19.5 years as on course commencement.
Educational Qualification
Applicants must have:
- Passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized board.
- Secured at least 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
- Obtained a minimum of 50% marks in English either in Class X or Class XII.
- Appeared in JEE (Main) 2026 (B.E./B.Tech) examination.
The selection of candidates for the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview will be done based on the JEE Main 2026 Common Rank List (CRL) released by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Selection Process
The selection procedure consists of the following stages:
Shortlisting
- Indian Navy Headquarters will shortlist candidates based on their JEE Main 2026 CRL Rank.
2) SSB Interview
- Candidates who have been shortlisted will be contacted for the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview at: A) Bengaluru 2) Bhopal 3) Kolkata 4) Visakhapatnam.
It is anticipated that the SSB interviews would start in September 2026.
3) Medical Examination
- In accordance with Indian Navy regulations, candidates who are recommended by the SSB will go through a medical examination
4) Merit List
A final merit list will be prepared based on

Candidates included in the merit list will be considered for appointment subject to police and character verification.
Training Details
The selected candidates will join the Indian Naval Academy (INA) in Ezhimala as cadets and will undergo a four-year B.Tech program.

- Naval Architecture & Shipbuilding (for selected candidates from Mechanical Engineering)
After successful completion of training, candidates will receive a B.Tech Degree awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
