A. General Scholarship (After Class 12th / Diploma)
Must have passed Class XII exam (or equivalent) with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in the academic year 2023-24, 2024-25 or 2025-26.
2. Must have taken admission in academic year 2026-27 into the first year of a degree course in any of the following fields
- Medicine ( MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BDS)
- Engineering (BE, BTECH, BArch)
- Graduation in any discipline
- Integrated Courses
- Diploma courses in any field or other equivalent courses
- Vocational courses through Government-recognized colleges/institutes
- Courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs)
3.Parents/guardian’s annual income (from all sources) must not exceed Rs. 4,50,000/- per annum.
B. Special Scholarship (After Class 10th)
- Must have passed Class X exam (or equivalent) with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in academic year 2023-24, 2024-25 or 2025-26
- Must have taken admission in academic year 2026-27 for the first year of Intermediate / 10+2 pattern / Vocational or Diploma courses through Government-recognized colleges/institutions, or courses in ITIs.

Note: These rates apply only to new entrants. Students already receiving the scholarship from earlier years will continue at the rate fixed at the time of their original selection, until course completion.
Duration of Scholarship
The scholarship remains valid throughout the duration of the approved course, excluding internship or stipend periods. However, continuation of the scholarship depends on satisfactory academic performance and compliance with all renewal conditions.
Number of Scholarships Available for LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2026
- Each of LIC’s 112 Divisional Offices will select 120 students each.
- Out of these 120 students per division
- 80 students – General Scholarship (After 12th/Diploma): 40 Boys + 40 Girls
- 40 students – Special Scholarship (After 10th): 20 Boys + 20 Girls
- Gender slots are interchangeable in case of shortage within a category.
- Overall national limit (subject to waiting list utilization): 8,960 (112 x 80) for General Scholarship and 4,480 (112 x 40) for Special Scholarship
Payment of Scholarship
- The 1st instalment becomes due upon selection, and the 2nd instalment must be claimed by submitting the 1st Semester exam result or an attendance certificate (for institutions without semester exams, along with a declaration).
- Payment schedule for 2026-27: 1st instalment due on 1st September 2026; 2nd instalment due on 1st February 2027. Subsequent instalments follow the same yearly sequence.
- The amount is transferred directly to the selected scholar’s bank account via NEFT. Candidates must provide bank account details, IFSC code, and a cancelled cheque with the beneficiary’s name. The bank account must be active (dormant accounts must be reactivated before submission).
Selection Process for LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2026
- Short-listing and final selection are done purely on merit, based on the percentage of marks obtained in Class 12th/10th, as applicable.
- In case of a tie in marks, preference is given to the candidate whose parents have the lower income
- In case of a tie in both marks and income, selection is based on a financial assessment report prepared by LIC officials evaluating the candidate’s financial needs and family background
- Applications are automatically routed to the relevant LIC Divisional Office based on the applicant’s address PIN code.
- The Competent Authority for approval of final selection is the Senior Divisional Manager In-Charge of the Divisional Office
- Selected candidates are informed via email by the Divisional Office.
- A waiting list is prepared separately for General and Special Scholarship categories where quota is exhausted; vacancies may later be filled from the waiting list based on centralized ranking, subject to overall limits.
