The Office of the Director of Education, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Kokrajhar has invited online applications for 19 Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) posts in Govt. HS & MP School, Kokrajhar. The advertisement is dated 4 November 2026 and is issued pursuant to the BTC Secretary’s letter dated 12 March 2026. Eligible Indian citizens (Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution) who are permanent residents of the BTC area can apply.

Vacancy Details

The 19 posts are distributed across the following subject categories. Candidates must apply for one particular subject. The Director of Education notes that vacancies may vary due to administrative reasons.

Education Details

• Post Graduate degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks (or equivalent) from a recognised University.
• B.Ed. from an institution recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
• Degrees obtained through off-campus or distance mode are not valid. Degrees or diplomas from KKHSOU, IGNOU, IDOL (Gauhati University) and Distance Education under Dibrugarh University are accepted as per the Assam Secondary Education (Government Schools) (Amendment) Service Rules, 2021
• Vocational (Accountancy & Auditing and Office Management): M.Com from a recognised University (not off-campus or distance) plus B.Ed.
• The candidate must have studied the same subject as one of the subjects at degree level.

Also Read: Candidates must be physically and mentally sound and will undergo a medical examination before appointment. Candidates with a NOT CLEAR (NC) status in any qualification are not eligible. Candidates with more than two living children on or after 01/01/2021 are not eligible under the Small Family Norms (Notifications dated 06/11/2019 and 16/11/2019).

1. TET cum Recruitment Test (140 marks) — one common paper for all PGT subjects:

2. Additional Marks

• NCC: 5 marks for “C” Certificate, 3 marks for “B” Certificate.
• Sports: 5 marks for participation at national level representing Assam, or 5 marks for fine arts and cultural achievements representing the State officially at national level. These and NCC are alternatives (Or) as per the advertisement.
• Earlier Higher Secondary TET: candidates who passed it and have not been appointed get 5% of their TET marks, maximum 5 marks.
• BTC contractual service: 5 additional marks for those engaged for six months in 2025 in Mathematics and Science in ME, High and Higher Secondary schools under BTC.

Merit List

1. Qualified candidates will be in the ratio of 1:1 against advertised vacancies.
2. If posts remain vacant after the first merit list, a maximum of two more merit lists will be published.
3. A separate subject-wise merit list will be prepared by filtering the marks of each subject’s candidates.
4. In case of a tie in aggregate marks, the older candidate gets preference.
5. Candidates must select a district from the drop-down menu during the online application.

2. Open the PGT recruitment application link and register.
3. Fill in the details and choose your subject and district carefully.
4. Upload self-attested colour copies of the required documents.
5. Pay the application fee as per your category.
6. Submit the form, then download and print it along with the Unique Number. Keep both safely for future reference.

12. Engagement/appointment order from the Director of Education, BTC, and working certificate from the Inspector of Schools / DEEO, if claiming contractual service marks

Terms & Conditions

• No offline application will be accepted.
• Once submitted, the application and uploaded documents cannot be corrected or re-submitted. Check everything before final submission.
• Documents will be verified using DigiLocker, barcode or QR code scanning and back-office checks with the concerned board or authority. Physical verification may be conducted at any time with notice. No TA/DA is admissible.
• Candidates must bring original certificates matching the uploaded documents and a printout of the application with self-attested copies at verification.
• Failing the screening or verification will cancel the candidature.
• Any fraud or discrepancy leads to immediate cancellation, debarment from future Government of Assam recruitment, and legal action.
• Requests for condonation or relaxation of any criteria must be made to the appropriate authority at least 7 days before filling up the online application.
• The office is not responsible for lapses in submission caused by technical problems.
• Corrigenda and addenda, if any, will be published on the official website. The decision of the competent authority on eligibility is final.
