Eligibility Criteria for APSC CCE Exam

Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens.

Regional Language Proficiency: Applicants should be proficient in speaking Assamese or any other official language, associate official languages of the State, or any tribal languages of the State.

Residency: Candidates must be original inhabitants of Assam.

Employment Exchange Registration: Applicants are required to be registered in a District Employment Office of Assam.

Small Family Norms: Candidates need to submit a declaration regarding “The Small Family Norms” in Form-A while applying for the C.C. (Prelim) Examination.

Age Limit: Candidates should be between 21 and 38 years of age as of January 1, 2023.

Age Relaxation: Category-wise age relaxation is as follows:

  • OBC/MOBC: 3 years

Educational Qualification:

CCE Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)

The CCE Preliminary Examination comprises two objective-type multiple-choice question papers, each with a duration of two hours.

CCE Main Examination (Written & Interview)

The Main Examination comprises two parts:

I. Written Examination
II. Interview Test/Personality Test (After qualifying in the written test)

I. Written Examination:

Based on the Preliminary Examination result, 11 to 12 times the number of vacancies notified for each category will be admitted to the written part of the Main Examination. The written examination consists of six papers of conventional essay type/objective type with limited words.

Candidates will be called for an interview in a ratio of 1:3 against the number of vacancies advertised, based on the result of the written part of the Main Examination. The final ranking will be determined by the marks obtained in both the Main Examination (Written Part and Interview).
