India Post GDS Recruitment Selection Process
 
The India Post GDS Recruitment Selection Process encompasses the following stages:
1. Merit List Compilation: Applicants will undergo shortlisting based on a computer-generated merit list. The list will be created using the marks obtained or the conversion of Grades/Points to marks from the 10th standard Secondary School Examination approved by relevant Boards. The marks will be aggregated to a percentage with precision to four decimal places. Fulfilling the passing criteria for all subjects as per board norms is compulsory.
2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates are required to participate in the document verification phase to finalize the recruitment. Candidates should undergo document verification with the designated divisional head by the specified date. Original documents relevant to the application must be presented for scrutiny. A window of 15 days is granted to shortlisted candidates to submit their documents for verification.
3. Document Discrepancies: If, during the document verification, disparities are identified between the data/marks entered in the Portal and the original documents, the candidate’s candidacy will be invalidated. Even minor errors in details such as the applicant’s name, names of parents, etc., could lead to rejection.
4. Appointment: Following successful document verification, the candidate will be appointed as a Gramin Dak Sevak within the jurisdiction of the respective division. Provisional engagement offers will be conveyed electronically through the system (via registered SMS/Email) post document verification. Subsequently, the candidate must contact the designated Engaging Authorities within 15 days to complete the engagement process.
