There are 150 multiple-choice questions totaling 150 marks in each of the two-hour and thirty-minute papers. Not a single negative grade. For SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PwD, the qualifying score is 55%, and for general, it is 60%.

Child Development & Pedagogy Syllabus – Assam Special TET 2026

Child Development & Pedagogy section focuses on understanding child psychology, learning processes, and effective teaching methods. Candidates should prepare the following topics:

a) Child Development & Pedagogy: Child development of primary school child, inclusive education, children with special needs, learning and pedagogy, how children think and learn. Focus on teaching-learning process, role of teacher, problems of adolescents.

b) Language I & II: Pedagogy of language development, language comprehension, grammar, unseen prose/poem passages. For English: parts of speech, tenses, voice, narration, synonyms/antonyms, teaching skills.

c) Mathematics: Number system, fractions, money, geometry, mensuration, data handling, algebra, arithmetic. Pedagogical issues, ICT integration in teaching Maths. Class 10 level topics for Paper II Maths.

d) Environmental Studies: Family and friends, food, shelter, water, travel, things we make and do. Our environment, care & protection, transport, communication.

e) Science/Social Science Paper

i) .Science: Natural resources, universe, light, sound, magnetism, electricity, matter, plant/animal life, ecosystems, pollution.
