• Candidate must belong to a Scheduled Tribe and hold a valid ST certificate in the prescribed Government of Assam format.
• Candidate must be a domicile of Assam (Permanent Residence Certificate is required as proof).
• Candidate must have a valid Employment Exchange registration issued through the Government of Assam’s Employment Exchange portal.

Age Limit ( as on 01 October 2026)

The cut-off date for age is 01 October 2026. Date of birth will be accepted only from the Class 10 (HSLC) Admit Card or an Aadhaar Card issued by the concerned government body. No other document is accepted as proof of date of birth. The notification does not mention any age relaxation.

Stipend and Training Period

• Selected candidates are engaged as Trainee for 12 months on a stipend of Rs 10,000 per month.
• After successful completion, the trainee is considered for regularization, subject to verification of documents (age, caste, education, experience), character verification and satisfactory performance.
• If performance is unsatisfactory, training is extended by 3 months. If it is still unsatisfactory after that, the appointment stands terminated.

Selection Process for AGCL ITI Trainee Recruitment 2026

2. Missing photograph or signature across the photograph.
3. Wrong trade. Only Fitter or Diesel Mechanic qualify. Other ITI trades do not
4. Non-ST or incomplete caste certificate, or a certificate not in the prescribed Assam format.
5. No Employment Exchange registration, or one not issued through the Assam Employment Exchange portal.
6. Missing NOC for candidates who are already in government or PSU service.
7. Late receipt of the application
8. False or doctored documents. The candidate is blacklisted from all future AGCL recruitment.
