Selection Process
The selection process consists of three stages:
1) Stenography Test – 90 Marks
- Voice test before dictation – 2 Minute
- Dictation at 120 WPM for 7 minutes
- Candidates will have time to test the computer/Keyboard- 3 Minute
- Computer Transcription Test- 20 Minute
Candidates must secure at least 50% marks (45 out of 90) to qualify for the next stage.
2) Written Examination – 100 Marks in 2 hours
The Written Test will be OMR-based and consists of objective-type quetions
- English Language – 80 marks
- Assamese Language – 20 Marks
- Total Marks- 100 Marks
- Time duration-2 Hours
Qualifying Marks
- English: Minimum 32 out of 80
- Assamese Language : Minimum 8 out of 20
The written examination is qualifying in nature and its marks will not be counted in the final merit list.
3 ) Viva – Voce
- Total Marks-30
Candidates must secure at least 60% marks (12 out of 30) to qualify.)
Final Merit List
The final merit list will be prepared based on:
- Stenography Test marks
- Interview/Viva-Voce Marks
In case of a tie, higher marks in the Stenography Test will be preferred. If the tie still remains, the older candidate will get preference.
