Eligibility Criteria For IIM CAT Examination 2023
Age Requirement: The CAT examination conducted by IIMs does not impose any age restrictions on applicants.
Educational Eligibility: To be eligible, candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree, with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste [SC], Scheduled Tribe [ST], and Persons with Disability [PwD] categories). This degree must be awarded by a recognized University or educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or State legislature in India, or declared as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. Alternatively, candidates should possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Candidates in Final Year: Those in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification, as well as those who have fulfilled degree requirements and are awaiting results, are also eligible to apply. It is important to note that if selected, such candidates can provisionally join the program only upon submitting a certificate from the Principal/Registrar of their University/Institution. This certificate must affirm that all requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification have been fulfilled by the date of certificate issuance, as stipulated by the respective IIM.
