Eligibility Criteria For NMMS Scholarship 2023
Here are the minimum eligibility requirements for applying for the NMMS Scholarship:
1. Class Eligibility:
Students currently enrolled in Class VIII and attending Government, Local Body, and Government Aided schools are eligible to apply.
2. Academic Performance:
– A minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in the Class VII examination is required to be eligible for the NMMS examination. For SC/ST students, this requirement is lowered by 5%.
– Awardees must achieve a minimum of 55% marks in Class IX and XI, and 60% in Class X to maintain the scholarship. The minimum marks for continuation in higher classes can be reduced by 5% for SC/ST candidates.
3. Family Income:
Scholarships are available to talented or high-achieving students whose parental income does not exceed Rs. 3,50,000/- per annum.
4. School Type:
Students attending regular classes in grades IX, X, XI, and XII at Government, Government-aided, and local body schools are eligible for the scholarship. This eligibility is valid for a maximum of four years.

Selection Process For NMMS Scholarship 2023
– On November 18, 2023, a written examination comprising Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) will be conducted to choose candidates for the NMMS Scholarship Scheme.
– The question paper will be provided in both Assamese and English mediums, while the OMR sheet will be in English.
– The ‘Bidyarthi’ app on the Google Play Store offers access to question papers from the past five years.
– Extra time will be granted to children with disabilities as per applicable guidelines.
– The examination consists of two papers: the Mental Ability Test (MAT) and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).

For selecting the students, the following conditions may apply:
- The students must pass both the tests i.e. MAT and SAT with at least 40 % marks in aggregate taken together for these two tests. (For the SC/ST students, 32% marks)
- The student must have scored at least 55% mark or equivalent grade in Class VIII examination. (50% for SC/ST students).
