Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat Recruitment 2026: Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat, Dispur, Guwahati has released a new recruitment notification for eligible candidates for various contractual posts. Assam Legislative Assembly Recruitment 2026 is a complete Contractual . A total of 5 vacancies are available for the posts of Hindi Reporter, Hindi Translator, Bengali Translator and Karbi Translator.

Terms & Condition for Apply

• The recruitment to the aforesaid posts shall be purely temporary (on contractual) basis and may be terminated at any time without assigning any reason thereof.
• The term of initial appointment shall be for six months and may be extended for a subsequent period depending upon the necessity of work.
• No TA/DA shall be admissible to candidates for appearing in the Test/Interview.
• The Assembly Secretariat reserves the right to forfeit the candidature of any candidate without assigning any reason thereof.

Minimum Age – 21 Years

Maximum Age- 40 Years

Age Relaxation according to Government Rules.

Age will be calculated on the basis of the School/Matriculation/HSLC Admit Card/Certificate issued by a recognized Board/Council/School, or other Government document, as applicable and notified.

Eligibility criteria for Candidates

• Hindi Translator
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University
  • Diploma in Hindi Stenography with qualifying speed of 80 words per minute, plus DTP typewriting (Hindi) from a recognized institution
  • 6 (six) months Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application
  • Sound knowledge of Assamese and English language
  • Preference to candidates with knowledge/experience in Parliamentary functioning
• Hindi Reporter
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline with Hindi as one of the subjects
  • Sound knowledge of Assamese and English literature
  • 6 (six) months Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application
  • Preference to candidates with knowledge/experience in Parliamentary functioning or Reporting in Hindi newspapers
• Bengali Translator
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with Bengali as one of the subjects
  • Sound knowledge of Assamese, English and Bengali literature
  • 6 (six) months Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application
  • Preference to candidates with knowledge/experience in Parliamentary functioning or Reporting in Bengali newspapers
• Karbi Translator
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University
  • Sound knowledge of Assamese, English and Karbi language/literature
  • 6 (six) months Diploma/Certificate in Computer Application
  • Preference to candidates with knowledge/experience in Parliamentary functioning or Reporting in Karbi newspapers

Selection procedure

1. The Assembly Secretariat will shortlist the names of eligible Applicants
2. Candidates shortlisted for Hindi Reporter will have to sit for a Speed Test conducted by the Secretariat
3. Candidates shortlisted for Hindi/Bengali/Karbi Translator will be required to appear before an Interview Board.
