Gauhati High Court Chauffeur & MTS Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for Driver and Multi Tasking Staff Posts

The Gauhati High Court has officially released a new recruitment notification for the posts of Chauffeur (Driver) and Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) under the Law Research Institute. Eligible candidates having a valid Employment Exchange Registration Number in Assam can apply online within the prescribed dates.

The online application process begins on 10 July 2026 and will remain open until 30 July 2026. Selection Process

The selection process consists of three stages:

1) Chauffeur (Driver)

• Written Test ( Objective Types Multiple Choice )
• 50 Marks ( 20 Marks Traffic Sign , 20 Marks GK and 10 Marks Assamese Language proficiency)
• Duration Time -1 Hour ( One hour)

2) Driving Test

• Candidates equal to five times the number of vacancies (1:5 ratio), based on merit in the written examination, will be shortlisted and called for the Driving Test.
• The Driving Test is 40 Marks ( Starting, Driving, Parking and after Driving)
• 10 marks every test

3) Viva Voce

Candidates equal to 3 times the number of vacancies (1:3 ratio), based on Driving test, will be shortlisted and called for the Viva Voce

• A candidate must secure at least 60% marks (12 out of 20) in the Interview/Viva-Voce to qualify for the next stage of the selection process.

2 ) Multi Tasking Staff ( MTS)

• Written Test ( Objective types Multiple choice Question)
• GK , General English , General Mathematics and Assamese Language (Proficiency)
• Class VIII standard Level
• Assamese Language 20 Marks
• Time 1½

Candidates equal to 5 times the number of vacancies (1:5 ratio), based on merit written test, will be shortlisted and called for the Viva Voce.

• A candidate must secure at least 60% marks (12 out of 20) in the Interview/Viva-Voce to qualify for the next stage of the selection process.
• Total Marks-20
