Selection Process

The selection process consists of three stages:

1) Stenography Test

• ( i) Voice test before dictation – 2 Minute
• Speed Test at 100 words per minute – 7 Minute ( 100 Marks)
• Candidates will have time to test the computer- 3 Minute
• Computer Transcription Test- 25 Minute

Candidates must secure at least 30 marks in the Stenography Test to qualify for the Written Examination. ( 1:10 Ratio)

2) Written Examination

The Written Test will be OMR-based and consists of objective-type quetions

• English Language – 50 marks
• Assamese Language – 20 Marks
• Total Marks- 70 Marks
• Time duration-1½ Hours

Candidates must obtain 40% marks separately in both the English and Assamese sections to qualify.

3 ) Viva – Voce

Candidates must secure at least 40% marks in the Written to qualify for the Written Examination (1:3 Ratio)

Candidates shortlisted after the Written Examination will be called for the Viva-Voce (10 Marks). The final merit list will be prepared based on the Stenography Test and Viva-Voce marks.
